are Diabete-ezy and Reality

Pancreas (Support organisation for Parents of people with Type
1 Diabetes).
It
is the first blood glucose meter in the world to have two test strip
ports (top and bottom) on the device for easy use regardless of
your handling habits (e.g., right-handed or left-handed).
Tiny
Amount of Blood Needed
A
very small volume of blood (0.5 ul) is utilized
for testing. This greatly reduces the pain in getting your blood
sample by either sampling from your finger using the lowest depth
setting of your lancing device, OR sampling at
alternative sites where only a small blood sample can be retrieved,
but with much less pain. Such alternative sites include forearms,
palms, thighs, etc. CareSens and CareLance can be recommended for
those who fear or dislike pricking their fingers.
World's
Shortest Measuring Time
Blood
loads into the test strip instantly and the test result is displayed
5 seconds later.
Download
BGL results to your computer
Two hundred and fifty test results can be stored in the memory of the
device, and this data may be downloaded to a personal computer.
Your results can then be displayed and printed as graphs. Contact us for
the PC Care software and 9 pin serial cable.
The data files can be opened into a spreadsheet with Excel 2003 or later,
Email us if you would
the instructions on how to do this.
Accurate
Results
The
test strip is designed to draw a fixed amount of blood, making it
possible to produce precise results without variations caused by
differences in sample volume. Testing can be performed in a wide
range of temperature (10-40 Celsius), relative humidity (10-90%)
and haemtocrit levels (20-60%). A comparative evaluation
performed by the International Diabetes Institute (Melbourne) found
CareSens to be the most accurate of the glucose meters tested against
the reference method. Click

Easy
to Use
The
CareSens system is operated with a relatively simple procedure to
help diabetic patients who need to measure their blood glucose several
times a day.

CareLance
(sold
separately)
Alternative
Site Monitoring
CareLance
is a vacuum assisted lancing device developed by i-SENS, the latest
technology to help patients obtain blood from alternative sites
such as forearms where drawing blood is difficult with an ordinary
lancing device. Please consult your doctor before monitoring
your blood glucose from alternative sites.
Dual
Purpose
The
device is designed for dual purpose: it can be used not only with
vacuum for alternative sites, but also without vacuum for glucose
testing with blood from fingers.
Adjustment
of Penetration Depth
The
device is equipped with a depth penetration dial to adjust the puncture
depth setting. Scaled from 1 to 5, it helps patients minimise their
pain while sampling blood for testing. Lancets we recommend for
use with the CareLance are Ascensia Microlet or Unilet Comfort Touch
lancets
